The year 2024 has indeed been a tumultuous one for Ye. On October 10, a man from Michigan, whose identity remains undisclosed, has initiated legal proceedings against the “CARNIVAL” rapper, alleging emotional trauma, retaliation, and various violations of California labor codes.
As reported by Rolling Stone, the individual, referred to as John Doe, began his employment in December 2022 as a campaign director and subsequently ascended to the role of Yeezy’s director of intelligence. In this capacity, he was reportedly responsible for overseeing NDAs and conducting inquiries, including investigations into the Kardashian family and Bianca Censori — who is currently wed to the musician and fashion designer.
“One particularly significant request by Ye involved instructing Doe to engage private investigators to follow and ‘tail’ his wife, Bianca Censori, while she traveled alone to visit relatives in Australia, all without Ms. Censori’s consent,” the lawsuit stated. Earlier this month, whispers emerged suggesting that the couple may be heading towards divorce.
“My client is convinced that there’s a direct link between the nitrous oxide and the heightened feelings of paranoia and siege mentality that occurred during that period,” lawyer Ronald Zambrano communicated to the outlet. “Concerns arose internally regarding the quantity of nitrous oxide being delivered to his residence.”
This lawsuit marks merely one of several legal challenges Ye has encountered over the past year. As Rap-Up reported earlier, Ye’s former assistant, Lauren Pisciotta, accused him of sexual misconduct, breaching contracts and wrongful dismissal.
Prior to this, Donna Summer’s estate came to an agreement with the Chicago-bred artist and Ty Dolla Sign concerning claims of unauthorized use of “I Feel Love” in VULTURES 1. Ozzy Osbourne also contemplated legal steps after the inclusion of Black Sabbath’s “Iron Man” on the same album.
On a brighter note, Ye is currently immersed in working on his upcoming solo project, BULLY. This anticipated album was revealed during a listening event held at Wuyuan River Stadium in China this September.
